Adrienne Warner : Take an (Italian) Seat!

Ciao Tutti! (Hi Everyone),

Chairs are a real passion of mine. Far more than just a ‘seat and four legs,’ the design options for chairs truly are endless. Recent travels abroad have allowed me to see many chairs that are not typically found in the states and I have discovered some truly incredible pieces.

On a trip to Italy last month, I saw some particularly amazing chairs. I hope you find them to be as inspiring as I did!

Arezzo1

Great market finds in Arezzo. This small town in Tuscany has a monthly antique market where we seek out well priced, special pieces for Castello di Casole.

bisazza

This picture is from several years ago but I had to share it in this post about Italian chairs. The chair is made entirely out of Bisazza mosaic tile and was designed by Alessandro Mendini. You can see Joni’s daughter, Sarah, in the bottom right.

If you see a fabulous chair, please send us a photo and tell us why you love it!

Felice Venerdi (Happy Friday)!

About the J Banks Collection:

The J Banks Collection is a line of chic, transitional upholstery and casegood pieces designed by Joni and manufactured by Stanford Furniture.  Launched during the Spring 2007 High Point Furniture Market, the collection has received numerous editorial features, appearing in publications including VERANDA, Coastal Living, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and Interior Design – just to name a few!  Joni’s inspiration for the pieces comes from her continuous travel to different regions for J Banks’ interior design projects. Combining distinctive shapes, fashion-forward lacquer finishes and luxurious textures, the furniture line is fit for any vernacular or design style.  By merging over-sized structures with whimsical details and rich, vibrant finishes, the J Banks Collection breaks the mold of conventional furniture design.

Perfectly Patriotic Outdoor Entertaining!

The Fourth of July is the perfect holiday for outdoor entertaining and relaxing, and the J Banks Retail Store has just received several new items that would make great additions to anyone’s Independence Day Soiree!

These new outdoor pillows are perfectly patriotic!

This graphic navy and white chevron pillow pairs nicely with this red one with a horizontal ruffle.

We love the nautical rope and grommet detail on this pillow. Wow – We can’t believe these are outdoor pillows!

We have a great selection of customizable trays, buckets and bins.  This “Cocktails” tray would be great beach or poolside!

Our new Graf & Lantz tote bags come in a variety of color combinations.  With leather straps and details they are chic, durable and most importantly – functional!

This white side table is perfect for a porch or patio.  Topped with glasses, red linen coasters and nautical print napkins it is the ideal place to set down your iced beverage or cocktail.

New rope napkin rings look great with nautical inspired red, white and blue place settings. These hand painted plates come adorned with red coral, lobsters and crabs!

For more information or to order any of these items please call our Retail Store at 843-682-1745.

Happy Fourth of July!

This Just In: Chair Aprons

We are in love with the new chair aprons that have just arrived in our retail store! Not only do they look chic but they are functional as well. Each chair apron is made of linen with a built-in spill and stain repellant. Most messes can simply be blotted off with a paper towel, or light surface cleaning. Mother’s everywhere rejoice! Now child-proof no longer means chic-proof!

What a great way to transform the look of your dining space in minutes. The streamlined design includes a straight skirt, and is available in a variety of cotton prints. Easy to apply and remove, each chair apron comes with a set of ties and a securing buckle.

Start with any standard sized chair in your home.

Select the chair apron color or print of your choice. Place the chair apron on the chair. Secure the back bow and buckle underneath and voila – a fresh new look!

Chair aprons are perfect for families, machine washable and completely free of any PVC, BPA, Lead, Phthalate and Formaldehyde. They are easy to maintain and just need occasional straightening and or wiping with a sponge. They have double the durability because they are made of cotton that has been laminated.

The chair aprons come in a standard size that fits chair seats up to 22″W x 22″D. All sizes are designed to have a 4″ edge around the sides and front of the chair. To see our complete collection of chair aprons or to learn more about our retail inventory, stop by our showroom at 35 Main Street on Hilton Head Island, or call 843-682-1745 for more information.
