The Details:
We are preparing to launch the Spring 2012 J Banks Collection in just a few months and are heading to the Stanford Furniture factory in Claremont, NC this week.
As we finalize the design and detailing of each piece, we want to invite you to be part of the process. The winner of our special contest will get an insider’s peek of our new introductions, get to choose their favorite and then to name the piece after themselves!

The J Banks Collection:
The J Banks Collection is a line of chic, transitional upholstery and casegood pieces designed by Joni and manufactured by Stanford Furniture. Launched during the Spring 2007 High Point Furniture Market, the collection has received numerous editorial features, appearing in publications including VERANDA, Coastal Living, Hamptons Cottages & Gardens and Interior Design – just to name a few! Joni’s inspiration for the pieces comes from her continuous travel to different regions for J Banks’ interior design projects. Combining distinctive shapes, fashion-forward lacquer finishes and luxurious textures, the furniture line is fit for any vernacular or design style. By merging over-sized structures with whimsical details and rich, vibrant finishes, the J Banks Collection breaks the mold of conventional furniture design.

I vote for anything “Annie” because she is the most wonderful daughter ever! If I had to pick one, I choose the console but all 3 are as fabulous as Annie.
Certainly the Slice Chair. A great piece as at home in a Biscayne penthouse as Althorp Manor.
My favorite pieces in the new J. Banks furniture collection is the Deb Chair and Mary Jane Demi Lune. This chair is prominent and stately. The rich, dark leather and bold nail-head trim add a timeless traditional look, while the squared wing and sweeping transition from wing to arm offer a modern flair. The deep seat and contrasting bolster promise a comfortable fit. The Demi Lune brings fashion and function with its luxurious fabric and welt. The lune’s classic waterfall skirt compliments the deep mahogany open foot of the chair in a way that is perfect. This chair and ottoman will make a delightful statement in any room!
How about the “Blaire Collection” fearing the “Blaire Chaire” (with the ‘e’!)- named after the cutest little 9 month old girl EVER! We will even come up and have her model it- it will be your BIGGEST seller! 😉 Can’t beat that!
I really like all of the pieces…colors and finishes…it reminds me of home! I miss seeing coastal representations and sea life. None of that up here in Vermont. How about “Heed your Inner Music” Collection. No one hears it like we do…like our personal style…no one has it like the other. I believe that our homes reflect our “inner music”. I like my home to feel like music…and peace…and happiness. Seeing your collection made me happy!
Definitely the Kristin Bed would be my favorite. It is warm, inviting, creates versatility with the use of color yet a great touch of class. I see this actually with all the pieces. Warm and classy all in one. As for a name for the line….”Air of Class” . That’s the feel I have when viewing the greater part of the line.
I am a fan of the “Deb Wing Chair and Amy Ottoman”, It’s bright and highly visible in a room despite the background, and I am a huge fan of shades of blue.
As far as a name for the collection introduction? The “Centripetal Collection”. A centripetal force is that by which bodies are drawn or impelled, or in any way tend, towards a point as to a center. To be drawn in to a center point.
My favorite peice is the Natalie Stool! It’s timeless look and neutral color palette allow it to go with almost any design! It’s so versatile but will be sure to stand out in any rooms decor! I would name the collection “Nail It”, because there is nail head everywhere and contains peices that will most definitely “nail” the design and bring the room together.

I’m totally a day late, but the Van Plew Chair is such a refreshing take on the swivel chair. More designers should add fashion with function as displayed in this gorgeous piece. It’s dainty, it’s transitional, it’s upbeat. It is THE perfect chair. It’s distinctive yet amazingly versatile. I’ll take two– for my Chicago High Rise project, and the pair will embody a floor to ceiling windowscape– while pulling you to the natural focal point, and pushing the feeling of floating.
