J Banks Design Profile Featured in September CH2

Our designer profile that appeared in the September issue of CH2 has been quite the buzz!  It’s been fun for us to hear comments throughout our community about how members have enjoyed reading our design philosophy and getting to know our designers by face.  We hope that you enjoy as well!

Timeless design that exudes casual sophistication – this is J Banks Design’s trademark and why clients have trusted the firm to provide visionary direction for their homes and commercial projects for the past 25 years.  Each of the firm’s 12 designers have interior design degrees from accredited institutions, and each have professional design affiliations such as ASID (American Society for Interior Design) and IIDA (International Interior Design Association).

J Banks’ (a full scale interior design firm of 35) success lies in their ability to cultivate strong client relationships.  Their design approach is based upon capturing the vision of their clients with the same passion as if it were their own.

Delivering outstanding design has resulted in being named as the 2009 Southeastern Designer of the Year by the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center in conjunction with Veranda Magazine and why they have been a regular fixture on Interior Design’s lists of the Top 200 Interior Design Giants and Top 75 Hospitality Design Giants for the past five years.

The firm’s portfolio is as diverse as their designers and is why there isn’t one specific style that they prefer doing.  Projects span the globe – from Cabo San Lucas to Tuscany, Italy – bringing forth continual inspiration and new design approaches.

J Banks’ interiors evoke a feeling of “life made better” through creative design.  They are livable, yet sophisticated; elegant, yet casual; functional, yet breath-taking.  The end result always reflects the true character of their client, but has an overall feel of being done well.  No two J Banks’ interiors are the same.  The only consistency is that all the projects exude style as well as a comfort level that encourages the freedom to live life.

The single project that represents the group as a whole is the J Banks Building, located at 35 Main.  The design firm’s 18,000 square-foot structure, the South Carolina Lowcountry’s first LEED-certified building, serves as home of the design offices and studio, warehouse and retail showroom  The building is a visible testament to the firm’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life of their clients and employees.
